We're building something that goes beyond individual investigations — from our work at The Old Vicarage in Wakefield and Haunting History to The Vault, our upcoming podcast and everything still to come.

WHO ARE WE!
The Daily Detour Paranormal was founded in 2026 with a simple idea: explore reportedly haunted locations, document what genuinely happens and take people along for the journey.
Since then, TDDP has grown into much more than an investigation channel. We investigate locations across the UK, research the history behind them, welcome independent investigators into The Old Vicarage in Wakefield and continue developing new projects as the Detour grows.
We're not interested in pretending every noise is a ghost or turning every investigation into something it wasn't.
We investigate.
We document.
You decide.
OUR APPROACH
EXPERIENCE IT. QUESTION IT. DOCUMENT IT.
The paranormal is full of stories, theories and experiences — but an unexplained event doesn't automatically make it paranormal.
That's why we approach investigations with curiosity while still questioning what we're experiencing.
If something has a normal explanation, we'll say so.
If we can't explain it, we'll tell you exactly that.
And if we spend hours somewhere and absolutely nothing happens?
That's part of investigating too.
Our job isn't to tell you what to believe.
We'll show you what happened. You can make your own mind up.
THE OLD VICARAGE
A NEW CHAPTER OF THE DETOUR
One of the biggest chapters in the TDDP story is The Old Vicarage, Wakefield.
TDDP runs the paranormal investigation side of this historic shared building, welcoming independent teams and investigators through its doors to experience the location for themselves.
Parts of the building are believed to date back centuries, with its structure, history and reported paranormal activity making it a fascinating location to investigate.
But we're not interested in simply repeating every story that's ever been told about the building.
We're researching its history, documenting the experiences of the people who investigate it and building an ongoing record of what actually happens inside.
The story of The Old Vicarage is still being written.

Haunting History is our long-form series exploring the researched history behind reportedly haunted locations.
We look beyond the paranormal stories to discover the people, events and history that came first — while clearly separating documented history from stories and claims that cannot currently be verified.
Because sometimes the real history behind a location is just as fascinating as the haunting.
THE VAULT

Located within The Old Vicarage, The Vault houses TDDP's growing collection of reportedly haunted, unusual and mysterious objects.
From objects with documented histories to items surrounded by stories and claims, The Vault gives visitors the opportunity to see them for themselves.
Every item has a story.
Whether there's something paranormal attached to them?
That's for you to decide.

THE JOURNEY BEGINS - FEB 2026
The first pieces of TDDP content are created and The Daily Detour Paranormal begins finding its identity.
What starts with a camera and an interest in the paranormal is about to become something considerably bigger.
MAY 2026
THE OLD VICARAGE CHAPTER BEGINS.
TDDP moves into The Old Vicarage and begins developing the paranormal investigation side of the building.
The location quickly becomes a major part of the TDDP journey, opening the doors to visiting investigators and creating opportunities that weren't even imaginable when the project first started.
SUMMER 2026
THE DETOUR GROWS.
Investigations continue.
Visiting teams begin experiencing The Old Vicarage.
The Vault develops.
Haunting History begins.
New projects start taking shape.
And TDDP continues developing its own identity within the paranormal community.
SEPTEMBER 2026
THE GOLDEN ORB AWARDS.
Just months after the journey began, The Daily Detour Paranormal is a finalist for Emerging Investigator at the Golden Orb Awards 2026, taking place in September at the Spirit & Spook Festival.
For a project still within its first year, becoming a finalist marks an incredible milestone in the TDDP journey.
AND THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING.

The Daily Detour Paranormal wouldn't be what it is without the people who have helped build, investigate and develop it along the way.
While TDDP has its own identity, collaboration has always been an important part of the journey.
SCOTT KAYE
FOUNDER & LEAD INVESTIGATOR
Scott founded The Daily Detour Paranormal in 2026 and leads the overall direction of TDDP, its investigations, productions and development.
What started with a camera and an interest in investigating the unexplained quickly developed into something considerably bigger — including taking on the paranormal investigation side of The Old Vicarage, developing projects such as Haunting History and continuing to expand what TDDP can become.
Scott's approach is simple:
Stay curious.
Question what happens.
Never manufacture an experience just because it makes better viewing.
And above everything else...

CARL WAIN
INVESTIGATOR | PARANORMAL WOLVES
Carl has been part of the TDDP journey and continues to be involved with investigations at The Old Vicarage and the ongoing story of the location.
Alongside his involvement with TDDP, Carl runs his own independent paranormal channel, Paranormal Wolves.
Both projects maintain their own identities while continuing to work together where it makes sense.
Carl has been there throughout an important period in the development of The Old Vicarage and remains involved in investigating and documenting the location.
TDDP and Paranormal Wolves are separate projects — but the Detour doesn't always have to be travelled alone.
