Before confirming a booking, customers will be provided with the relevant price, payment requirements, cancellation conditions and essential information about their chosen experience.
By completing a booking, the lead booker agrees to these terms and is responsible for communicating relevant information to other attendees.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights.

Customers must provide accurate booking information and contact details.
Every attendee must complete an individual guest waiver before attending an investigation.

We reserve the right to decline bookings for legitimate, non-discriminatory reasons, including serious safety concerns or previous significant misconduct.
Reasonable adjustments will be considered where required.
4. Booking Confirmation
A booking is confirmed once the required initial payment has been received and written confirmation has been issued.
Confirmation may be provided through our online booking platform, by email or through another written communication for direct bookings.
Booking confirmation will identify:
The investigation or event booked.
The confirmed date and start and finish times.
The maximum permitted number of attendees.
The total booking price.
Payments received and any outstanding balance.
The deadline for outstanding payments.
Relevant arrival and attendance information.
Customers must notify us promptly if any booking details are incorrect.
5. Prices and Payment Arrangements
Prices vary depending on the investigation date, package, special event or promotional offer.
The total booking price will be confirmed before payment.
Where offered, customers may either pay the full amount at booking or secure their booking with a £50 deposit.
The deposit forms part of the total booking price and is not an additional fee.
Any remaining balance must be paid no later than seven calendar days before the scheduled investigation.
Bookings made within seven days of an investigation require payment in full at the time of booking unless a different arrangement has been expressly agreed in writing.
Prices will not be increased after booking confirmation unless the customer agrees to an additional service or change.
6. Outstanding Payments
Payment reminders may be issued before an outstanding balance becomes due.
Where payment has not been received by the agreed deadline, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the lead booker.
Failure to pay an outstanding balance may result in cancellation of the booking.
Any amounts retained following cancellation will be subject to our Cancellation & Refund Policy and applicable consumer law.
7. Group Bookings
The maximum number of permitted attendees varies according to the investigation or event.
The permitted group size will be confirmed before booking.
Additional attendees must not attend without prior agreement.
The lead booker is responsible for ensuring their group receives relevant booking information, venue rules and waiver instructions.
Each attendee remains individually responsible for their behaviour.
The lead booker is not automatically liable for damage or misconduct caused by another attendee solely because they arranged the booking.
8. Investigation Dates and Times
Investigation dates, start times and finishing times vary depending on the booked experience.
The confirmed schedule will be communicated before booking.
Guests must arrive at the agreed time and leave by the scheduled finishing time.
Late arrival may reduce the investigation time available.
Extensions cannot be guaranteed.
Any material change to the agreed booking arrangements will be handled fairly and in accordance with applicable consumer law.
9. Shared Building and Restricted Areas
The Old Vicarage is a historic, multi-occupancy building shared with other businesses and authorised occupants.
Although investigations are arranged to minimise disruption, authorised individuals may occasionally access shared areas.
Guests must respect the privacy, property and activities of other building occupants.
Private business units, storage rooms and restricted areas must not be entered without express permission.
Guests may investigate only the areas authorised for their booking.
Access to particular areas may be temporarily restricted where reasonably necessary for safety, security or building operations.
Where restrictions materially affect the booked experience, customers retain any remedies available under applicable law.
10. Host Presence and Independent Investigations
A designated host will remain physically present within The Old Vicarage throughout each investigation.
To provide guests with an independent and uninterrupted paranormal investigation experience, the host will generally remain separate from the investigating group.
Guests may investigate authorised areas independently, subject to venue rules and safety requirements.
Although the host may not be in the same room, they will remain on site and available to provide assistance.
Guests will be informed how to contact the host during their investigation.
The host reserves the right to intervene where reasonably necessary to:
Protect the health and safety of guests or other occupants.
Respond to emergencies or incidents.
Prevent damage to the building, equipment or museum artefacts.
Address serious misconduct or breaches of venue rules.
Maintain the security and safe operation of the premises.
The Old Vicarage is not operated as an unattended investigation venue.
11. Health and Safety
The Old Vicarage is a historic property and may contain uneven flooring, stairs, low ceilings, changes in floor level and other features requiring additional care.
Investigations may involve periods of reduced lighting.
Guests must follow reasonable safety instructions and exercise appropriate care when moving around the premises.
Emergency exits, escape routes and safety equipment must remain unobstructed.
Accidents, injuries, hazards or unsafe conditions must be reported promptly to the host.
Further information is available in our Health, Safety & Accessibility Policy.
12. Accessibility
Due to the historic nature of The Old Vicarage, some investigation areas may present accessibility challenges.
Guests are encouraged to contact us before booking to discuss their requirements.
We will consider reasonable adjustments and provide accurate information about available access arrangements.
Nothing in these terms removes our obligations under applicable equality legislation.
13. Guest Equipment
Guests may bring their own paranormal investigation equipment, cameras and recording devices.
Equipment must be used responsibly and must not damage the building, create hazards or interfere with other building occupants.
Ouija boards and similar communication boards require prior permission.
Candles, naked flames, smoke-producing devices and other potentially hazardous equipment must not be used without express authorisation and appropriate safety assessment.
Equipment must not obstruct emergency exits or walkways.
14. Photography, Filming and Live Streaming
Photography and filming are generally permitted within authorised investigation areas.
Guests must respect the privacy of other attendees, hosts and building occupants.
Filming within restricted or private areas is prohibited without permission.
Commercial filming and live streaming may require prior agreement.
Guests are responsible for ensuring that their own recording and publication activities comply with applicable law.
Further information is available in our Photography & Filming Policy.
15. Paranormal Activity Disclaimer
Paranormal activity cannot be guaranteed.
Reports of unusual occurrences are based on historical accounts, previous investigations and individual experiences.
Guests acknowledge that paranormal investigations may involve extended periods without unexplained activity.
No particular paranormal encounter, communication or result is promised.
16. Guest Behaviour and Removal
All guests must comply with our Guest Rules & Code of Conduct.
We may intervene or require an attendee to leave where their behaviour:
Presents a serious safety risk.
Involves threats, harassment or abusive conduct.
Causes deliberate damage.
Substantially disrupts the investigation.
Involves serious breaches of venue rules.
Where appropriate, guests may be given an opportunity to correct less serious breaches.
Any refund entitlement following removal will depend on the circumstances and applicable consumer law.
17. Damage to Property
Guests must take reasonable care of the premises, furnishings, equipment and museum artefacts.
Accidental damage must be reported promptly.
Where damage results from negligence or deliberate misconduct, we may seek recovery of reasonable, evidenced losses from the legally responsible person.
Guests will not be charged for normal wear and tear or losses for which they are not legally responsible.
18. Customer Cancellations and Refunds
All bookings are for a specified investigation date or event.
The Daily Detour Paranormal does not offer voluntary refunds for customer cancellations, non-attendance, changes of personal circumstances or changes of mind, regardless of the notice provided.
Customers may notify us of cancellation at any time. There is no minimum cancellation notice period.
Where a customer cancels, any payments retained will be subject to applicable consumer law, including requirements that cancellation charges are fair and proportionate.
Bookings for qualifying leisure activities on specified dates are generally exempt from the statutory 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
This exemption does not remove other statutory rights.
All cancellation enquiries must be sent to:
thedailydetourenquiries@gmail.com
Further details are provided in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
19. Cancellation by The Daily Detour Paranormal
We may need to cancel an investigation due to serious safety concerns, building emergencies, loss of necessary access or other circumstances preventing us from providing the booked service.
Where The Daily Detour Paranormal cancels an investigation or event and cannot deliver the agreed service, customers will receive a refund of payments made for the cancelled service.
Customers may voluntarily agree to an alternative date instead.
Nothing in this section excludes any additional remedy available under applicable law.
20. Personal Belongings
Guests are responsible for taking reasonable care of their personal belongings and equipment.
We recommend keeping valuables secure.
We are not responsible for losses arising solely from circumstances for which we are not legally liable.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for negligence or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
21. Privacy and CCTV
Personal information collected in connection with bookings will be processed in accordance with our Privacy & Data Protection Policy.
Where CCTV is operating, appropriate information will be provided through our CCTV & Surveillance Policy and relevant notices.
Guests may request CCTV footage relating to their investigation, subject to availability, applicable privacy requirements and the law.
Requests should be submitted to:
thedailydetourenquiries@gmail.com
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms for future bookings.
The version applicable to an existing booking will ordinarily be the version provided when the booking was confirmed.
Material changes affecting existing bookings will be handled fairly and in accordance with applicable law.
23. Complaints and Contact
Questions, concerns and complaints should be directed to:
thedailydetourenquiries@gmail.com
Complaints will be handled fairly and within a reasonable timeframe.
Further information is available in our Complaints & Contact Policy.
24. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply.

25. Statutory Rights and Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts:
Liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

POLICY 2 — CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
The Daily Detour Paranormal
The Old Vicarage WakefieldEffective Date: 11/10/2026
1. Business Information
This Cancellation & Refund Policy applies to all paranormal investigations, private bookings, special events and associated experiences organised by The Daily Detour Paranormal.
Trading Name: The Daily Detour Paranormal
Proprietor: Scott Kaye, Sole Trader
Business Address: The Old Vicarage, Zetland Street, Wakefield, WF1 1QT
Email: thedailydetourenquiries@gmail.com
Website: https://thedailydetourparanormal.co.ukReferences to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Scott Kaye trading as The Daily Detour Paranormal.
This policy should be read alongside our Booking Terms & Conditions and any event-specific conditions disclosed before booking.
2. General Cancellation and Refund Position
All investigations and events are offered for specific dates, times and agreed booking arrangements.
When a booking is confirmed, the relevant date or places are reserved for the customer and may become unavailable to other potential customers.
The Daily Detour Paranormal does not offer voluntary refunds for customer cancellations, non-attendance, changes of mind or changes in personal circumstances.
This policy applies regardless of how far in advance a customer cancels.
However, any amount retained following cancellation must comply with applicable consumer law, including requirements of fairness and proportionality.
Nothing in this policy removes a customer's statutory entitlement to a refund or other remedy where required by law.
3. Customer Cancellations
Customers may cancel a booking at any time by contacting:
thedailydetourenquiries@gmail.com
There is no minimum cancellation notice period.
Cancellation requests should include the lead booker's name, investigation date and booking reference where available.
We will acknowledge cancellation requests within a reasonable timeframe.
Cancellation does not automatically entitle a customer to a voluntary refund.
Where a customer cancels, any cancellation charge or retained payment will be assessed in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Relevant considerations may include costs already reasonably incurred, costs avoided because of the cancellation and reasonable opportunities to resell the booking.
Where required by law, an appropriate full or partial refund will be provided.
4. Deposits
Where offered, customers may secure a booking by paying a £50 deposit.
The deposit forms part of the total booking price.
The £50 deposit is not ordinarily refunded when a customer voluntarily cancels.
However, the description of a payment as a deposit does not automatically make it legally non-refundable.
Any amount retained must be fair and proportionate in the circumstances and comply with applicable consumer law.
Where a refund is legally required, it will be provided notwithstanding our general no-voluntary-refunds position.
5. Full Payments
Customers may choose to pay the full booking price at the time of booking.
Where a customer subsequently cancels, we do not ordinarily offer a voluntary refund of the amount paid.
Any amount retained must nevertheless comply with applicable consumer law.
We will not automatically treat the entire booking price as a cancellation charge where doing so would be unfair or unlawful.
Any refund legally due will be calculated with reference to the relevant circumstances.
6. Outstanding Balances
Where a booking has been secured with a deposit, any remaining balance must be paid no later than seven calendar days before the investigation.
Bookings made within seven days of the investigation must ordinarily be paid in full at the time of booking.
Where an outstanding balance is not received by the agreed deadline, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the lead booker.
Continued non-payment may result in cancellation.
Any amount retained or further payment claimed following cancellation for non-payment will be subject to applicable consumer law.
7. Non-Attendance and Late Arrival
Customers who fail to attend their booked investigation without notifying us are considered non-attendees.
No voluntary refund is offered for non-attendance.
Late arrival does not automatically entitle a customer to additional investigation time, a partial refund or a replacement booking.
However, this does not affect any remedy required by law where the circumstances arise from a failure on our part to provide the agreed service.
8. Changes in Personal Circumstances
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may prevent customers from attending an investigation.
These may include illness, transport disruption, work commitments, family emergencies or other personal circumstances.
Such circumstances do not automatically entitle customers to a voluntary refund or replacement date.
Any request for an exception may be considered at our discretion, without creating an obligation to grant similar requests in the future.
Statutory rights remain unaffected.
9. Rescheduling and Transfers
Customers may request to move their booking to another available date.
Rescheduling is not guaranteed and requires our express agreement.
Any alternative date will be subject to availability, the suitability of the event and any price difference clearly agreed before the change is confirmed.
Customers must not assume that a booking has been transferred until written confirmation has been issued.
A customer may also request to transfer their booking to another eligible person or group.
Transfers require prior approval, and all replacement attendees must satisfy our age, waiver and venue requirements.
We will consider transfer requests reasonably, taking account of any legitimate administrative, operational or safety considerations.
Nothing in this section removes statutory rights.
10. Cancellation by The Daily Detour Paranormal
We may occasionally need to cancel an investigation or event because of circumstances that prevent us from providing the agreed service.
These may include:
Building emergencies or unsafe conditions.
Fire, flooding or significant damage.
Loss of necessary access to the premises.
Serious illness or unavailability of essential personnel where suitable alternatives cannot be arranged.
Circumstances that make the investigation unsafe or impossible to deliver.
Other events beyond our reasonable control that prevent performance of the booking.
If The Daily Detour Paranormal cancels an investigation or event and cannot provide the booked service, customers will receive a full refund of payments made for that cancelled service.
Customers may voluntarily choose to transfer their booking to an alternative available date instead.
Customers will not be required to accept an alternative date in place of a refund.
Any additional legal remedies will remain available where applicable.
11. Changes to Investigation Arrangements
We may occasionally need to make minor operational changes for legitimate reasons, including safety, security or building requirements.
Minor changes that do not materially affect the agreed experience will not automatically entitle a customer to cancel for a full refund.
Where a change substantially alters the booked investigation, customers will be informed as soon as reasonably practicable.
If we cannot provide the agreed service or an acceptable alternative, customers will receive the refund or other remedy required by applicable law.
12. Restricted Areas and Shared Building Access
The Old Vicarage is a shared historic building.
Authorised building occupants may occasionally access shared areas, and certain rooms or business units remain restricted.
These arrangements form part of the venue information provided to customers.
Occasional authorised access to shared areas does not automatically entitle customers to a refund where the agreed investigation experience can still be delivered.
Where restrictions or disruption materially prevent us from providing the booked service, customers retain their statutory rights.
13. Guest Conduct and Removal
Guests may be required to leave an investigation where serious misconduct, threats, harassment, deliberate damage or unsafe behaviour occurs.
No voluntary refund will ordinarily be offered where a guest is reasonably removed because of their own serious misconduct.
Any amount retained will nevertheless be subject to applicable consumer law and the circumstances of the removal.
Where removal is unjustified or results from our failure to provide the service properly, customers retain any applicable statutory remedies.
14. Paranormal Activity and Refund Requests
Paranormal activity cannot be guaranteed.
Investigations may involve extended periods without unexplained occurrences.
A lack of paranormal activity, unusual experiences or recorded evidence does not, by itself, entitle a customer to a refund.
Customers are purchasing access to the agreed investigation experience, not a guaranteed paranormal result.
This provision does not affect rights arising where the booked service is not provided as agreed or with reasonable care and skill.
15. Statutory Cancellation Rights
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, qualifying leisure services supplied on a specified date or during a specified period are generally exempt from the usual 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right.
Our date-specific paranormal investigations and events may fall within this exemption.
Where an exemption applies, customers do not receive an automatic statutory 14-day cooling-off period merely because they booked online or through another distance-selling method.
This exemption does not remove rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable legislation.
Where a statutory cancellation right applies to a particular booking, we will honour it.
16. Unfair Cancellation Charges and Consumer Rights
Our no-voluntary-refunds policy does not permit us to impose unfair or disproportionate cancellation charges.
Where a customer cancels, the amount we may lawfully retain can depend on the circumstances, including reasonably incurred costs, losses directly resulting from cancellation, costs saved and reasonable opportunities to resell the booking.
We will not automatically retain payments where doing so would be contrary to applicable consumer law.
Where a customer is legally entitled to a full or partial refund, that entitlement takes precedence over our general cancellation policy.
17. Refund Processing
Where a refund is due, we will confirm the amount and arrange payment without undue delay.
Refunds will ordinarily be made to the original payment method where reasonably possible.
We will not impose an additional administrative charge simply for processing a refund that is legally required.
Any applicable statutory refund deadlines will be observed.
18. Payment Disputes
Customers who believe a payment or cancellation charge has been applied incorrectly should contact us using the email address below.
We will review the relevant booking information and respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Nothing in this policy prevents a customer from exercising lawful rights through their payment provider, seeking independent advice or pursuing an appropriate legal remedy.
19. Complaints and Contact
All cancellation requests, refund enquiries and complaints should be directed to:
thedailydetourenquiries@gmail.com
Please include the booking name, investigation date and a brief explanation of the enquiry.
We will handle enquiries fairly and in accordance with our Complaints & Contact Policy.
20. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time.
The policy applicable to an existing booking will ordinarily be the version provided when that booking was confirmed.
Changes will not retrospectively remove contractual or statutory rights.
21. Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory consumer protections.
Nothing in this policy prevents customers from exercising rights available under applicable law.
22. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Cancellation & Refund Policy excludes, restricts or overrides rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
In particular, nothing removes a customer's entitlement to an appropriate remedy where The Daily Detour Paranormal fails to provide a contracted service or where a cancellation charge would be unfair under applicable consumer law.
Our standard business position remains that voluntary customer cancellations are not refundable. Legally required refunds and remedies will always take precedence.

The Daily Detour Paranormal
The Old Vicarage WakefieldEffective Date: 11/10/2026
1. Introduction and Purpose
The Daily Detour Paranormal is committed to providing a safe, respectful and enjoyable environment for paranormal investigations, private bookings and special events at The Old Vicarage Wakefield.
These Guest Rules & Code of Conduct apply to all visitors, investigators, groups and attendees participating in events organised by The Daily Detour Paranormal.
The rules are intended to protect guests, staff, other building occupants, the historic premises, equipment and museum artefacts.
All attendees are required to familiarise themselves with these rules before attending.
These rules form part of our Booking Terms & Conditions and should be read alongside our Health, Safety & Accessibility Policy, Photography & Filming Policy and other relevant venue policies.
2. Minimum Age Requirement
All investigation attendees must be 18 years of age or older.
Guests may be asked to provide reasonable proof of age.
Anyone unable to establish that they meet the minimum age requirement may be refused admission.
Under-18s are not permitted to attend investigations unless The Daily Detour Paranormal has expressly established and advertised a separate age-appropriate event with suitable safeguarding arrangements.
3. Booking and Attendance Requirements
Only individuals included within the agreed booking arrangements may attend.
The maximum permitted group size varies according to the investigation or event and will be confirmed before booking.
Additional attendees must not enter the venue without prior authorisation.
Every attendee must complete an individual guest waiver before attending their investigation.
The waiver does not remove statutory rights or excuse The Daily Detour Paranormal from legal responsibilities.
Guests must provide accurate information where reasonably required for booking administration, safety and emergency arrangements.
4. Arrival and Departure
Guests must arrive at the agreed time and follow the arrival instructions provided with their booking.
Early entry is not permitted without prior authorisation.
Guests must leave the investigation areas by the confirmed finishing time.
Late arrival does not guarantee an extension to the investigation.
Guests must follow any reasonable instructions concerning entry, departure, security and access to the premises.
5. Alcohol, Illegal Drugs and Intoxication
Alcohol and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited during investigations and events.
Guests must not attend while intoxicated or otherwise impaired to a degree that creates a safety risk.
The possession, consumption or distribution of illegal drugs is prohibited.
Alcohol must not be brought into or consumed within investigation areas.
Where a guest's condition presents a genuine safety concern, the host may refuse entry or require the guest to leave.
Any such decision will be made reasonably, taking account of the circumstances and applicable law.
Lawfully prescribed medication is not prohibited. Guests are not required to disclose private medical information except where they voluntarily choose to share information relevant to reasonable adjustments or emergency assistance.
6. Respectful Behaviour
All guests must behave respectfully towards other attendees, the host, building occupants and members of the public.
The following behaviour is prohibited:
Threats, violence or intimidation.
Harassment, bullying or discriminatory abuse.
Aggressive or deliberately disruptive conduct.
Deliberate interference with another person's investigation equipment.
Behaviour that creates an unreasonable risk of injury or damage.
Unauthorised entry into private or restricted areas.
Disagreements or concerns should be raised calmly with the host.
The Daily Detour Paranormal reserves the right to intervene where behaviour compromises safety or the proper operation of the venue.
7. Independent Paranormal Investigations
The Old Vicarage offers guests the opportunity to conduct independent paranormal investigations within authorised areas.
A designated host remains physically present within the building throughout the investigation but will generally remain separate from the investigating group.
This arrangement is intended to minimise interference and allow guests to investigate independently.
Guests will be informed how to contact the host if assistance is required.
Independent investigation does not mean unrestricted access or permission to disregard venue rules.
The host may intervene where reasonably necessary for safety, security or operational reasons.
8. Shared Building and Other Occupants
The Old Vicarage is a shared historic building containing other businesses and authorised occupants.
Guests must respect the privacy, property and activities of those occupants.
Although investigations are arranged to minimise disruption, authorised individuals may occasionally access shared areas.
Guests must not confront, obstruct, follow, record intrusively or interfere with other building occupants.
Access to private business premises is prohibited unless expressly authorised.
Guests should report any concerns involving other occupants to the host rather than attempting to resolve them through confrontation.
9. Authorised Investigation Areas
Guests may investigate only the areas expressly made available for their booking.
Authorised areas may include designated sections of the historic building, subject to the specific booking and any temporary restrictions.
The host will explain relevant access boundaries before the investigation begins.
Areas may be temporarily closed where necessary for safety, security, maintenance or building operations.
Guests must comply with these restrictions.
10. Restricted and Private Areas
The following areas are not included in standard investigation access unless expressly authorised:
Other businesses' occupied units, including the skate shop, music shop and tax office.
Private storage rooms and locked rooms.
Areas reserved for building management or authorised personnel.
Any space identified by signage, barriers or instructions as restricted.
Guests must not force open doors, bypass locks, enter behind barriers or attempt to access restricted areas.
A door being unlocked does not automatically mean that the room is authorised for investigation.
Unauthorised access may result in removal from the venue and, where appropriate, further action.
11. The Vault — Haunted & Historic Museum
The Vault contains objects displayed for their reported paranormal associations, historical interest or relevance to the venue.
Guests are welcome to observe permitted exhibits during authorised access.
Museum artefacts must not be touched, moved, opened, handled, dismantled or removed without express permission.
This includes dolls, boxes, religious objects, historic items, display stands and other exhibits.
Guests must not interfere with protective displays, labels, locks or security arrangements.
Some objects may be associated with stories, legends or reported experiences. These accounts are presented as claims, testimony or historical information rather than guaranteed or scientifically verified facts.
Any damage, accidental contact or concern involving an exhibit must be reported promptly.
Further requirements are provided in our separate The Vault — Museum & Artefact Policy.
12. Paranormal Investigation Equipment
Guests may bring and use their own paranormal investigation equipment within authorised areas.
Examples include cameras, audio recorders, electromagnetic field meters, REM pods, spirit boxes and other commonly used investigation devices.
Equipment must be operated safely and responsibly.
Guests must not:
Damage or alter the building to position equipment.
Attach equipment to historic surfaces without permission.
Obstruct exits, stairs or walkways with tripods or cables.
Tamper with electrical installations.
Interfere with fire detection, emergency lighting or security systems.
Leave equipment in locations that create unreasonable hazards.
The host may require equipment to be moved, switched off or removed from use where a legitimate safety or security concern arises.
13. Ouija Boards and Communication Practices
Ouija boards and similar communication boards may only be used with prior permission from The Daily Detour Paranormal.
Permission may be subject to restrictions concerning the location, method of use or other relevant safety and operational considerations.
Guests must not assume that permission to use general paranormal equipment includes permission to use Ouija boards.
No particular paranormal result or communication is guaranteed.
14. Candles, Flames, Smoke and Hazardous Materials
The use of naked flames, candles, incense, smoke-producing equipment or other devices presenting a fire or safety hazard is prohibited unless expressly authorised following an appropriate assessment.
Guests must not bring or use fireworks, flammable substances, pyrotechnics or hazardous chemicals.
Fire detection systems must not be covered, disabled or interfered with.
Any proposed equipment or activity involving heat, smoke or unusual physical hazards must be discussed and approved before the investigation.
15. Building Preservation

Guests must not:
Carve, mark, scratch or damage walls, doors, beams or other surfaces.
Remove fixtures or fittings.

Any damage or suspected structural concern must be reported immediately.
16. Health, Safety and Movement Around the Building
The building may contain uneven flooring, stairs, low ceilings, changes in floor level and areas of reduced lighting.
Guests must move carefully and use suitable lighting when necessary.
Running, dangerous climbing, pushing or deliberately frightening others in ways that create a risk of injury is prohibited.
Guests must keep stairways, corridors and emergency exits clear.
Safety barriers, warning signs and restricted-area notices must be respected.
Guests must not undertake activities that create an unreasonable risk to themselves or others.
17. Emergency Procedures
Guests must familiarise themselves with the emergency information provided at the beginning of their investigation.
In an emergency, guests must follow the host's instructions and evacuate when directed.
Fire exits, escape routes and safety equipment must not be obstructed or interfered with.
Any fire, injury, dangerous condition or other emergency must be reported immediately.
Where emergency services are required, guests should call 999 without unnecessary delay and inform the host when safe to do so.
Guests must not re-enter the building following an evacuation until authorised.
18. Photography and Video Recording
Guests are generally permitted to take photographs and record video within authorised investigation areas.
Recording must be conducted responsibly and with respect for other people's privacy.
Guests must not deliberately film private business activities, confidential information or individuals in circumstances where recording would be unlawful or unreasonably intrusive.
Filming in restricted areas is prohibited without permission.
The use of recording equipment must not create safety hazards or obstruct emergency routes.
19. Live Streaming and Public Broadcasting
Guests wishing to live stream their investigation must obtain prior permission where required by the booking arrangements or our Photography & Filming Policy.
Live streaming must not compromise safety, privacy, security or the operation of other businesses within the building.
Guests must not broadcast restricted areas, private information, security arrangements or individuals where doing so would breach applicable law.
The host may require a live stream to stop where a legitimate safety, privacy or security concern arises.
20. CCTV and Venue Security
CCTV may operate within designated areas of The Old Vicarage for legitimate security, safety and incident-related purposes.
Where CCTV is in use, appropriate notices and information will be provided.
Guests must not obstruct, disconnect, damage, reposition or interfere with CCTV cameras or related equipment.
Requests for CCTV footage must be submitted to:
thedailydetourenquiries@gmail.com
The provision of footage for paranormal investigation videos is subject to availability, privacy requirements and applicable law.
Further details are provided in our CCTV & Surveillance Policy.
21. Personal Belongings
Guests are responsible for taking reasonable care of their belongings and equipment.
We recommend keeping valuable items secure.
Equipment should not be left unattended in shared or publicly accessible areas.
The Daily Detour Paranormal does not accept responsibility for losses for which it is not legally liable.
Nothing in these rules excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
22. Damage, Theft and Removal of Property
Theft, deliberate damage and unauthorised removal of property are prohibited.
Guests must not remove museum artefacts, historic objects, fixtures, equipment or property belonging to the venue or other occupants.
Accidental damage must be reported promptly.
Where a guest causes damage through negligence or deliberate misconduct, we may seek recovery of reasonable, evidenced losses from the legally responsible person.
Serious incidents may be reported to the police where appropriate.
23. Respect for Other Guests and Investigations
Guests must respect other investigators' equipment, personal space and chosen investigation methods.
Deliberately creating false paranormal evidence, tampering with another person's equipment or intentionally misleading others in a way that causes disruption is prohibited.
Guests must not deliberately create loud disturbances or interfere with other groups or building occupants.
Reasonable differences in beliefs, opinions and investigation methods must be treated respectfully.
24. Paranormal Claims and Personal Experiences
The Daily Detour Paranormal recognises that paranormal investigation involves individual beliefs, interpretations and experiences.
No guest is required to accept a particular explanation for an event.

This policy applies to activities organised by The Daily Detour Paranormal within authorised areas of The Old Vicarage.
These may include paranormal investigations, museum visits, filming, approved experiments and other organised activities.
It applies to guests, visitors, participating investigators and other individuals involved in our operations.
Independent businesses occupying other parts of the building remain responsible for matters within their own control.
4. Historic Building Considerations
The Old Vicarage is a historic property and may present features including:
Uneven flooring.
Changes in floor level.
Stairs and narrow passageways.
Low ceilings or beams.
Restricted spaces.
Basement access.
Low-light conditions.
Historic doors, walls and fittings.
Surfaces that may become slippery.
Areas with limited accessibility.
Guests should remain aware of their surroundings and exercise reasonable care when moving through the building.
Historic character does not remove the need for appropriate safety precautions.
5. Health and Safety Responsibilities
The Daily Detour Paranormal will take reasonably practicable steps to identify and manage risks arising from activities under our control.
This includes considering the condition of authorised areas, guest activities, equipment, emergency arrangements and relevant building limitations.
Guests must follow reasonable safety instructions and report hazards or incidents promptly.
Where responsibilities are shared with the landlord, building management or other occupiers, relevant parties will need to cooperate and coordinate appropriate arrangements.
6. Risk Assessments
Our health and safety arrangements are informed by the risks associated with the building and the activities undertaken.
Suitable assessments must be completed, documented where required and reviewed when relevant circumstances change.
These include consideration of:
Fire and evacuation.
Single-route escape arrangements.
Stairs and basement access.
Slips, trips and falls.
Lighting.
Electrical equipment.
First-aid needs.
Guest activities and experiments.
Accessibility and assisted evacuation.
Museum displays.
Shared-building arrangements.
Where an assessment identifies additional controls, these must be addressed before the relevant activity proceeds.
7. Entrance and Exit Arrangements
The areas of The Old Vicarage used for our investigations have one designated entrance and one designated exit route.
The building's age and existing layout limit the available access and escape arrangements.
The adequacy of the escape route must be established through the fire risk assessment, taking account of the building's layout, occupancy, travel distances, fire precautions and individuals who may require assistance.
Guests must familiarise themselves with the designated exit arrangements communicated by the host.
Escape routes must remain unobstructed and available for use.
The existence of a single exit route must not be taken as confirmation that the arrangements are automatically suitable for every activity or group.
8. Fire Safety
Fire safety is a priority within The Old Vicarage.
Appropriate fire precautions must be established and maintained in accordance with the findings of the fire risk assessment and applicable legal requirements.
These may include:
Suitable fire detection and warning arrangements.
Clearly identifiable escape routes.
Appropriate emergency lighting where required.
Suitable fire extinguishers where identified as necessary.
Appropriate fire doors and fire separation measures.
Fire prevention controls.
An emergency evacuation procedure.
Coordination with other responsible persons within the building.
Guests must not interfere with fire safety equipment or obstruct escape routes.
9. Emergency Evacuation
In the event of fire or another emergency requiring evacuation, guests must follow the designated emergency procedure and instructions from the host.
Guests should:
Stop the activity immediately.
Leave equipment and personal belongings behind where retrieving them would delay escape.
Use the designated escape route if safe.
Avoid running or pushing.
Move away from the building to a safe location.
Not re-enter until authorised.
Emergency services must be contacted where necessary.
The designated assembly point and detailed evacuation arrangements will be established and communicated through the venue's emergency procedures.
10. Fire Prevention
Guests must not create unnecessary fire risks.
The following are prohibited unless expressly authorised following appropriate assessment:
Open flames.
Candles.
Incense or burning materials.
Smoke-producing equipment.
Unsafe electrical connections.
Unauthorised heaters.
Other activities presenting a significant fire hazard.
Guests must not cover detectors, interfere with alarms or obstruct fire doors.
11. Fire Extinguishers
Suitable fire extinguishers will be provided and maintained where required by the fire risk assessment.
Their type, number and location will be determined according to the hazards, layout and relevant fire safety guidance.
Guests should not attempt to fight a fire unless it is safe, they are competent to do so and there is a clear means of escape.
Evacuation and personal safety take priority over protecting equipment or property.
12. First Aid
The Daily Detour Paranormal follows established first-aid principles and recognises the importance of responding promptly and appropriately to injuries and medical incidents.
The proprietor, Scott Kaye, has undertaken first-aid training.
First-aid assistance will be provided within the limits of the person's training, available equipment and the circumstances.
Emergency medical services will be contacted when necessary.
First-aid training does not replace professional medical assessment or emergency treatment.
13. First-Aid Equipment
Appropriate first-aid equipment must be available in accordance with an assessment of the venue's first-aid needs.
First-aid kits will be positioned so that they can be accessed promptly when required.
Their contents and condition will be checked and replenished as appropriate.
The location of available first-aid equipment will be communicated to guests where relevant.
14. Medical Emergencies
If a guest becomes seriously unwell or sustains a significant injury:
The activity should stop where necessary.
The host should be informed immediately.
Emergency services should be contacted where appropriate.
First aid may be provided within the responder's training and competence.
Other guests should avoid obstructing assistance.
Relevant incident details may be recorded.
Guests must not delay urgent medical assistance in order to continue an investigation or obtain footage.
15. Accidents and Incident Reporting
Guests must report accidents, injuries, significant near misses and unsafe conditions to the host as soon as reasonably practicable.
Relevant incidents may be recorded, investigated and reviewed.
Records will be handled in accordance with our Privacy & Data Protection Policy.
Where an incident meets applicable statutory reporting requirements, appropriate notifications will be made.
16. Guest Health and Personal Circumstances
Guests should consider whether the physical demands and environment of a nighttime investigation are suitable for them.
Anyone with an accessibility requirement or relevant safety concern is encouraged to contact us before booking.
We will request only information reasonably necessary to consider suitable arrangements.
Guests are not expected to disclose detailed medical histories unnecessarily.
17. Accessibility
We recognise our responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010.
The Old Vicarage is a historic building and some areas may be difficult or unsuitable for individuals with particular mobility or accessibility requirements.
Potential limitations include stairs, uneven surfaces, narrow access routes, basement access and changes in floor level.
We will consider reasonable adjustments according to individual circumstances, applicable law and the practical limitations of the premises.
The historic nature of the building does not automatically remove our legal responsibilities.
18. Assisted Evacuation
Where an individual may require assistance during an emergency, appropriate arrangements must be considered before attendance.
The feasibility of safe evacuation will depend on the building's layout, available escape routes, support arrangements and individual needs.
Any necessary assistance must be planned rather than assumed.
Where safe access or evacuation cannot be achieved despite reasonable adjustments, we will discuss the relevant limitations and any appropriate alternatives.
19. Basement Access
The basement forms part of the investigation environment where included in an authorised booking.
Access may involve stairs, changes in level, restricted movement and low-light conditions.
Guests must:
Use appropriate lighting.
Take care on stairs.
Avoid running.
Keep walkways clear.
Report damaged or unsafe surfaces.
Follow any access restrictions.
Avoid carrying equipment in a way that obstructs safe movement.
Basement use must remain subject to suitable risk assessment and safe evacuation arrangements.
20. Basement Environmental Conditions
The basement may experience environmental conditions associated with an older property, including dampness, limited ventilation or temperature variation.
Appropriate arrangements will be considered to manage identified risks.
Guests should report any significant concerns involving air quality, water ingress, electrical safety or structural condition.
Areas presenting unacceptable risks will be restricted until appropriate action has been taken.
21. Hallways and Stairwells
Hallways and stairwells are essential circulation areas and may form part of the emergency escape route.
Guests must not obstruct them with tripods, cables, equipment cases or other belongings.
Extra care should be taken when moving between floors or investigating in low light.
Stairwells must not be used for unsafe experiments or activities that interfere with access.
22. Lighting
Paranormal investigations may involve reduced lighting.
Guests must maintain sufficient visibility to move safely.
Torches or suitable personal lighting should be available for safe navigation.
Complete darkness must not be used where it would create an unacceptable risk.
Emergency lighting requirements will be determined through the relevant assessment.
23. Slips, Trips and Falls
Guests should remain alert to uneven surfaces, cables, stairs, changes in floor level and objects placed in walkways.
Equipment should be positioned to minimise hazards.
Spills, loose flooring and other hazards should be reported promptly.
The host may require equipment to be moved or an area to be restricted where necessary.
24. Electrical Safety
Electrical equipment must be suitable for its intended use and operated safely.
Guests must not:
Use visibly damaged equipment.
Overload sockets.

Tripods, stands, cables and battery packs must not obstruct doorways, stairs or emergency routes.
Guests must not attach equipment to historic surfaces without permission.

Ouija boards require prior permission under our venue rules.
28. Alcohol and Drugs
Guests must not attend under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
Alcohol consumption and illegal drug use are prohibited during investigations.
Where a person's condition creates a significant safety concern, appropriate action may be taken under the Guest Rules & Code of Conduct.
29. The Vault — Haunted & Historic Museum
Museum displays and artefacts must be treated with care.
Guests must not touch, move, open or remove items without permission.
Displays must not obstruct escape routes or create avoidable hazards.
Activities involving museum objects require prior authorisation.
Further details are provided in our Museum & Artefact Policy.
30. Shared Building Arrangements
The Old Vicarage contains independently occupied business spaces.
Other tenants and authorised visitors may occasionally use shared areas.
We will cooperate with relevant building management and other responsible parties on matters affecting shared access, fire safety and emergency arrangements.
Guests must not enter restricted business areas.
Safety responsibilities will be considered according to the areas and activities under each party's control.
31. Host Presence and Independent Investigations
A designated host remains physically present within The Old Vicarage during guest investigations.
The host may remain separate from the investigating group to support independent exploration.
Guests must know how to contact the host when assistance is required.
Independent investigation does not mean that the venue is left unattended or that guests may disregard safety instructions.
32. CCTV and Safety
CCTV may be operated in hallways and spaces managed by The Daily Detour Paranormal, subject to appropriate legal and operational arrangements.
CCTV may support security and incident management.
It does not replace physical supervision, first aid, fire detection, emergency procedures or other necessary safety controls.
CCTV arrangements are explained separately in our CCTV & Surveillance Policy.

Where an identified risk cannot be adequately controlled, the relevant activity will not proceed.
Any material effect on a booking will be handled in accordance with applicable contractual and consumer rights.
36. Emergency Services
Emergency services will be contacted where required.
Guests must cooperate with emergency responders and follow appropriate instructions.
No guest should delay evacuation or emergency assistance to recover equipment or continue filming.

Effective Date: 11 October 2026
1. Introduction
The Daily Detour Paranormal is committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for investigation guests, visitors, other building occupants and the historic premises in which we operate.
This policy explains how CCTV may be installed, operated and managed at The Old Vicarage Wakefield, including camera coverage, privacy safeguards, access permissions, retention periods, footage requests and the rights of individuals recorded.
We recognise that The Old Vicarage is a shared, multi-occupancy building and that security measures must respect the rights of other tenants and their visitors.
CCTV will be operated in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Business Information
Trading Name: The Daily Detour Paranormal
Proprietor and Data Controller: Scott Kaye, Sole Trader
Business Address: The Old Vicarage, Zetland Street, Wakefield, WF1 1QT
Email: thedailydetourenquiries@gmail.com
Website: https://thedailydetourparanormal.co.ukScott Kaye, trading as The Daily Detour Paranormal, is responsible for CCTV personal data processed under our control.
Other tenants and building management remain responsible for surveillance systems they operate independently.
3. CCTV Coverage and Camera Locations
Our intended CCTV coverage includes:
Hallways and communal circulation areas where surveillance is lawfully authorised.
Entrances and access points relevant to our operations.
Rooms and spaces operated or managed by The Daily Detour Paranormal.
The Vault — Haunted & Historic Museum.
Other authorised areas containing investigation equipment, displays or valuable items.
The areas operated by The Daily Detour Paranormal may change over time.
Accordingly, CCTV coverage may be expanded, reduced, relocated or otherwise adjusted as the areas under our operational control change.
This policy does not authorise unrestricted surveillance of the entire building.
Before any new or relocated camera begins recording, we will consider its purpose, necessity, privacy implications, legal basis, relevant permissions and signage requirements.
A current internal record of operational camera locations and coverage will be maintained.
4. Shared Hallways and Communal Areas
The Old Vicarage is occupied by multiple independent businesses.
CCTV in shared hallways or communal areas may capture individuals who are not attending our investigations.
We will take particular care when determining whether surveillance of these spaces is necessary and proportionate.
Where required, we will coordinate with building management and other relevant parties regarding permissions, camera positioning and privacy responsibilities.
Cameras will be positioned to minimise unnecessary recording of other businesses, their entrances, customers and activities.
The presence of a camera in a shared hallway does not grant us unrestricted rights to monitor other tenants.
5. Purpose of CCTV
CCTV may be operated for legitimate purposes including:
Protecting the safety and security of guests and visitors.
Deterring and investigating theft or criminal damage.
Protecting paranormal investigation equipment.
Protecting museum artefacts and displays.
Identifying unauthorised access.
Investigating accidents and significant incidents.
Supporting proportionate venue security arrangements.
Preserving relevant evidence where lawfully necessary.
CCTV will not be used for unjustified monitoring, harassment or intrusive observation.
6. CCTV Installation and Activation
CCTV may be planned, installed or operational at different times.
Before recording begins, we will establish the necessary legal, technical and privacy arrangements.
These will include appropriate assessment of camera coverage, access controls, security, retention and transparency.
Where cameras are operational, appropriate signage will identify their use.
A camera being installed does not necessarily mean that it is recording.
7. Lawful Basis for Recording
Where CCTV is operated for proportionate security and property-protection purposes, we may rely on legitimate interests under Article 6 UK GDPR.
Before relying on this basis, we will assess whether recording is necessary and whether the rights of individuals outweigh the identified interests.
Other lawful bases may apply to particular activities where appropriate.
Entering The Old Vicarage will not be treated as consent to unrestricted surveillance or publication of recordings.
8. Areas Where CCTV Will Not Be Installed
We will not install cameras in toilets, changing facilities or other areas where individuals have a particularly strong expectation of privacy.
We will not deliberately monitor independently occupied private business units without a lawful and properly assessed justification.
Camera coverage will be restricted or adjusted where reasonably necessary to protect privacy.
9. Video and Audio Recording
Our intended CCTV system will record video for legitimate security purposes.
Routine CCTV audio recording will be disabled.
If audio recording is ever proposed, it will require a separate assessment of necessity, proportionality, lawful basis and additional privacy safeguards before activation.
Separately authorised paranormal investigation audio recordings are not automatically governed by the same technical settings as security CCTV.
10. Recording Times
CCTV may operate during investigation sessions, outside booking hours or at other times justified by the identified security purpose.
The recording schedule will depend on the installed equipment and documented security requirements.
Continuous recording, motion detection or a combination may be used where appropriate.
Recording outside event hours does not automatically authorise unrestricted monitoring or livestreaming.
11. Privacy Notices and Signage
Appropriate CCTV signage will be displayed before individuals enter monitored areas.
Notices will identify The Daily Detour Paranormal as the operator where applicable, explain the purpose of recording and provide contact details or access to further privacy information.
Additional signs will be installed or repositioned where changes to camera coverage make this necessary.
This policy and our Privacy & Data Protection Policy provide further information.
12. Host Presence During Investigations
A designated host remains physically present within The Old Vicarage throughout guest investigations.
The host may remain in a separate room to allow independent paranormal investigation.
CCTV may assist with security but does not replace the host's physical presence, emergency arrangements or other safety procedures.
The venue is not operated as an unattended investigation facility.
13. Access to CCTV Recordings
Access to CCTV footage will ordinarily be restricted to Scott Kaye as the authorised operator.
Additional access may be granted only where there is a legitimate and lawful reason.
Access will not be provided simply because an individual is a guest, member or visiting paranormal investigator.
Authorised access permissions will be reviewed when necessary.
14. CCTV Security
We will take appropriate steps to protect CCTV recordings and related systems.
These may include:
Strong passwords and secure authentication.
Restricted user accounts.
Appropriate protection of remote access.
Secure recording and storage arrangements.
Controlled downloading and disclosure.
Appropriate software and security updates.
Secure deletion of recordings.
Protection against unauthorised physical access.
The specific controls will reflect the installed system and associated risks.
15. Remote Viewing
Where technically supported, CCTV may be viewed remotely by authorised persons for legitimate security purposes.
Remote viewing will be protected through appropriate security measures.
Remote access does not mean that guests are left unattended during investigations.
Remote access will not be offered to the public or members as unrestricted access to the security system.
16. Retention of CCTV Footage
Our selected standard retention period for routine CCTV recordings is 14 days.
Once the system is operational, it is intended that routine footage will be automatically overwritten or securely deleted after this period.
The retention period will be reviewed to confirm that it remains necessary and proportionate for the purposes of recording.
Relevant footage may be preserved for longer where necessary in connection with an incident, complaint, investigation, insurance matter or legal claim.
Extended retention will be limited to the period reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
17. Incident Footage
Where footage is relevant to an accident, theft, damage or other significant incident, we may preserve an appropriate extract.
Preserved footage will be secured and accessed only for the relevant purpose.
It will be reviewed and deleted when no longer lawfully required.
18. Guest Requests for Footage
Guests may contact us to ask whether footage from their investigation is available.
Requests should be directed to:
thedailydetourenquiries@gmail.com
We may consider discretionary requests for footage to support paranormal investigation or personal review.
Disclosure will depend on availability, privacy, security and legal considerations.
We may redact, restrict or decline discretionary disclosure where appropriate.
Footage is not guaranteed to be available after the routine retention period.
19. Subject Access Requests
Individuals may request access to personal information relating to them, including identifiable CCTV footage.
Requests can be made verbally or in writing.
We may ask for information reasonably necessary to confirm identity and locate the relevant footage.
Where recordings contain other individuals, redaction or other lawful restrictions may be necessary.
We will respond without undue delay and normally within one month, subject to applicable legal provisions.
Requests will ordinarily be handled without charge.
20. Deletion and Objection Requests
Individuals may request deletion of their personal information or object to certain processing where applicable.
We will assess requests under UK data protection law.
Footage may need to be retained where a lawful reason exists, including a legal obligation or an ongoing claim.
We will explain any applicable restriction where appropriate.
21. Disclosure to Authorities
Relevant CCTV footage may be disclosed to police, emergency services, courts or regulators where lawful and appropriate.
Requests will be assessed according to their purpose, necessity and legal basis.
Disclosure will be limited to relevant information wherever reasonably practicable.
22. Insurance and Legal Matters
CCTV footage may be shared with insurers, legal advisers or other authorised parties where reasonably necessary for a claim, dispute or investigation.
Appropriate privacy and confidentiality safeguards will apply.
23. Public Sharing and Paranormal Content
Security CCTV footage will not automatically be published on social media, YouTube or other public platforms.
Where footage is considered for public release, we will assess the privacy rights of identifiable individuals and identify an appropriate lawful basis.
We may seek permission, edit footage, obscure identities or decline publication.
A recording appearing to contain unexplained activity does not override privacy obligations.
24. Memberships and Livestreams
The Daily Detour Paranormal may introduce membership services offering exclusive content.
Membership will not automatically provide unrestricted access to security CCTV.
Any future livestream or selected footage release will be subject to appropriate privacy, security and operational assessment.
We will not provide unrestricted 24-hour access to the security CCTV system to members or the public.
Controlled livestreams may be considered separately where appropriate safeguards can be maintained.
25. Guest-Owned Cameras
Guests may use their own recording equipment in authorised areas in accordance with our venue rules.
Guest-operated cameras are separate from our security CCTV.
Guests are responsible for considering their own legal responsibilities when recording or publishing information about others.
We may impose reasonable restrictions to protect privacy, security and the rights of other building occupants.
26. Interference with CCTV Equipment
Guests must not:
Disconnect or damage cameras.
Cover or deliberately obstruct cameras.
Alter camera positioning.
Interfere with recording equipment.
Attempt to access CCTV accounts or storage.
Disable network or power connections.
Download footage without authorisation.
Suspected interference should be reported to the host.
Serious incidents may be referred to the relevant authorities.
27. CCTV and Paranormal Activity
CCTV may incidentally capture events that guests consider unusual or unexplained.
Any interpretation of such footage as paranormal activity is subjective and does not establish a supernatural explanation.
CCTV does not guarantee the recording of any particular event.
Privacy and security requirements take priority over entertainment or paranormal investigation requests.
28. Equipment Faults and Interruptions
CCTV may be affected by power interruptions, equipment faults, storage limitations or connectivity problems.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted recording or that all footage will be recoverable.
Where a fault affects an essential security or safety arrangement, we will assess the implications and take appropriate action.
29. Personal Data Breaches
Suspected unauthorised access, loss or disclosure of CCTV footage will be assessed as a potential personal data breach.
We will take appropriate steps to investigate and contain the incident.
Where legally required, the Information Commissioner's Office and affected individuals will be notified.
Relevant decisions and incidents will be documented.
30. Your Data Protection Rights
Individuals may have rights to:
Be informed about surveillance.
Access their personal information.
Request erasure in qualifying circumstances.
Object to certain processing.
Request restriction of processing.
Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
These rights are subject to applicable legal conditions and exemptions.
31. Changes to Camera Locations
Camera locations and coverage may change as The Daily Detour Paranormal develops or operates additional areas within The Old Vicarage.
Before changes are implemented, we will consider:
The reason for the proposed coverage.
Whether recording is necessary and proportionate.
Whether the area is shared or privately occupied.
Whether additional permissions are required.
Whether existing privacy notices remain accurate.
Whether signage must be updated.
Whether the lawful basis and risk assessment remain appropriate.
Whether access, security or retention arrangements need changing.
A change in camera location will not automatically require a complete rewrite of this policy, provided the processing remains accurately described and legally compliant.
Material changes will be reflected in relevant privacy information.
32. Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed when appropriate, including where:
New cameras are introduced.
Existing cameras are relocated.
Additional rooms come under our operational control.
Recording purposes change.
New surveillance features are proposed.
Significant privacy concerns arise.
Relevant legislation or guidance changes.
Operational records will be updated as necessary.

Photography, Filming & Recording Policy
The Daily Detour Paranormal | The Old Vicarage Wakefield
Effective Date: 11 October 2026
1. Introduction
The Daily Detour Paranormal welcomes responsible photography, filming and audio recording as part of paranormal investigations at The Old Vicarage Wakefield.
We recognise that documenting investigations, reviewing evidence and sharing experiences are important aspects of the paranormal community.
Our aim is to provide an environment where guests can record their investigations while respecting the privacy, safety and rights of others, protecting the historic building and maintaining a positive experience for everyone.
This policy establishes the rules governing photography, filming, audio recording, livestreaming, publication and promotional use of content within areas operated by The Daily Detour Paranormal.
It should be read alongside our Booking Terms & Conditions, Guest Rules & Code of Conduct, Privacy & Data Protection Policy and CCTV & Surveillance Policy.
2. Business Information
Trading Name: The Daily Detour Paranormal
Proprietor: Scott Kaye, Sole Trader
Business Address: The Old Vicarage, Zetland Street, Wakefield, WF1 1QT
Email: thedailydetourenquiries@gmail.com
Website: https://thedailydetourparanormal.co.ukReferences to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Scott Kaye trading as The Daily Detour Paranormal.
3. General Permission to Film
Guests attending an authorised paranormal investigation are generally welcome to:
Take photographs.
Record video footage.
Record audio and electronic voice phenomena (EVP) sessions.
Use paranormal investigation cameras and recording equipment.
Document their experiences.
Create investigation videos for personal channels and social media.
Share lawful content from their investigation.
Separate advance permission is not normally required for ordinary, non-disruptive filming within authorised investigation areas.
All filming remains subject to this policy, the rights of other individuals and reasonable safety or security restrictions.
4. Areas Where Filming Is Permitted
Filming is generally permitted within areas made available for the booked investigation.
These may include:
Authorised hallways and stairwells.
The basement investigation area.
The Vault — Haunted & Historic Museum.
The Hidden Gem, where included in the booking.
Other rooms and spaces specifically made available by the host.
Access and filming permissions may vary according to the booked event, building arrangements and operational circumstances.
Permission to investigate an area does not automatically grant access to restricted adjoining spaces.
5. Restricted Filming Areas
Guests must not film inside independently occupied business units, private offices, restricted storage rooms or other areas outside the authorised investigation space without appropriate permission.
Filming must not intrude unnecessarily upon other tenants, their customers or private activities.
Where a shared hallway is available to guests, filming must remain respectful of the rights of other building occupants.
The host may identify additional filming restrictions where reasonably necessary.
6. Shared Building and Other Occupants
The Old Vicarage is a multi-occupancy building.
Other businesses and authorised individuals may occasionally be present.
Guests must not deliberately film, follow, confront or question other occupants without their agreement.
Guests must not interfere with another business's operations to obtain footage.
Where someone requests not to be filmed, guests should respect that request and take reasonable steps to avoid unnecessary recording.
The host may restrict filming where necessary to protect privacy, safety or legitimate building operations.
7. Guest Privacy and Consent
Guests are responsible for respecting the privacy of other people.
Before deliberately filming or recording identifiable individuals outside their own consenting group, guests should obtain appropriate permission.
The fact that someone is present at an investigation does not automatically mean they have agreed to appear in publicly distributed content.
Particular care should be taken when recording private conversations or sensitive information.
Where UK data protection law applies to a guest's recording or publication activities, the guest is responsible for meeting their own obligations.
8. Filming Within Your Own Investigation Group
Groups may film their own investigations, including team discussions, equipment sessions and reactions.
Group organisers should ensure that participants understand the intended filming arrangements.
Guests should discuss any concerns about appearing in publicly shared content before filming begins.
Disagreements within a group about publication should be addressed respectfully.
The Daily Detour Paranormal does not automatically acquire ownership of recordings created independently by guests.
9. YouTube and Social Media
Guests may generally publish their own lawful investigation footage on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram.
Publication must comply with:
Applicable law.
Relevant platform rules.
The privacy and rights of identifiable individuals.
This policy and other venue rules.
Any specific filming conditions agreed for the booking.
Guests are welcome to identify The Old Vicarage Wakefield and The Daily Detour Paranormal as the investigation location.
We appreciate appropriate credit, although ordinary guest footage does not automatically require a formal promotional agreement.
10. Livestreaming
Livestreaming may be permitted within authorised investigation areas.
Guests planning a substantial livestream, multi-camera broadcast or production involving additional personnel should discuss the arrangements with us in advance.
Livestreaming must not:
Expose private tenant activities.
Broadcast confidential conversations.
Interfere with emergency arrangements.
Obstruct access routes.
Reveal sensitive security information.
Unreasonably disrupt other occupants.
The host may require a livestream to be paused or stopped where a legitimate safety, privacy or security concern arises.
11. Commercial Filming and Productions
Ordinary monetisation of a guest's investigation videos through platform advertising does not, by itself, require a separate commercial filming agreement.
However, professional productions involving additional crew, substantial lighting, large equipment, exclusive access, advertising campaigns or other activities beyond an ordinary booked investigation require advance approval.
Additional charges, permissions, safety arrangements or written terms may apply.
No additional fee will be imposed retrospectively merely because an ordinary guest investigation video generates advertising revenue.
12. Equipment and Filming Safety
Guests may bring cameras, tripods, audio recorders, infrared equipment and other suitable filming equipment.
All equipment must be used responsibly.
Guests must not:
Obstruct emergency exits or escape routes.
Create avoidable trip hazards.
Overload electrical sockets.
Use damaged electrical equipment.
Attach equipment to historic surfaces without permission.
Place unstable equipment where it could fall.
Interfere with fire safety systems.
Use hazardous lighting or power equipment.
The host may require unsafe equipment to be repositioned or removed from use.
13. Lighting and Flash Photography
Flash photography and portable lighting may generally be used where safe and appropriate.
Guests must avoid shining bright lights directly into other people's eyes or using equipment in a way that creates unnecessary risk.
Lighting must not obstruct movement, interfere with safety equipment or damage sensitive displays.
The host may restrict particular lighting arrangements where reasonably necessary.
14. Drones and Specialist Equipment
Drones, aerial filming equipment and other specialist devices require advance permission.
Indoor drone operation is not automatically permitted.
Any proposed drone use must be assessed for safety, building protection, privacy and applicable aviation requirements.
Permission to film at The Old Vicarage does not override laws governing drones or other regulated equipment.
15. Museum Photography and Artefacts
Photography and filming within The Vault — Haunted & Historic Museum are generally welcome where the area is included in the investigation or visit.
Guests must not:
Touch or move artefacts without permission.
Open or dismantle displays.
Remove objects from the museum.
Place filming equipment on delicate exhibits.
Alter displays to create dramatic footage.
Damage historic or donated items.
Additional restrictions may apply to particular objects where necessary for preservation, safety, privacy or third-party rights.
16. Respect for the Historic Building
Guests must not damage, alter or interfere with historic features for the purpose of filming.
Attaching cameras, mounts, adhesives, screws or other fixtures to walls, beams, doors or historic surfaces requires express permission.
Guests must not force doors, move furniture without permission or enter unsafe areas to obtain footage.
The preservation of the building takes priority over filming requirements.
17. Paranormal Experiments and Recording
Guests may document paranormal investigation methods and experiments within the limits of venue rules.
Experiments involving open flames, smoke, hazardous substances, structural interference or other significant risks are not permitted without express authorisation following an appropriate assessment.
Ouija boards require prior permission under our venue rules.
Recording an experiment does not remove the obligation to conduct it safely.
18. Paranormal Evidence and Interpretation
The Daily Detour Paranormal recognises that guests may record sounds, movements, images or other events they consider unexplained.
We do not guarantee that paranormal activity will occur or be captured.
Interpretations of alleged paranormal evidence are subjective and should not automatically be presented as scientifically established fact.
Guests are responsible for the accuracy of claims made in their own productions.
We encourage transparent presentation of relevant circumstances and reasonable consideration of ordinary explanations.
19. Staged or Misleading Content
Guests must not damage property, frighten or harass others, interfere with safety arrangements or create dangerous situations to manufacture dramatic footage.
Staged scenes or fictional content must not involve unauthorised use of the premises or misrepresentation of other identifiable individuals.
The Daily Detour Paranormal may publicly clarify factual inaccuracies about its operations or venue where appropriate.
Nothing in this policy prevents lawful opinion, criticism, commentary or creative expression.
20. The Daily Detour Paranormal's Own Filming
We may create photographs, videos, audio recordings and other media relating to our investigations, events, museum and venue.
Where our content identifies guests or other individuals, we will comply with applicable privacy and data protection requirements.
We will provide relevant information about planned filming and obtain permission or consent where required.
Guests will not automatically be treated as having granted unrestricted promotional rights merely by booking or attending an investigation.
21. Promotional Consent
Where we seek permission to use an identifiable guest's image, voice, interview or personal experience in promotional material, we will explain the intended use.
Where consent is the lawful basis, it will be freely given, specific, informed and capable of withdrawal in accordance with applicable law.
Consent to appear in one recording does not automatically authorise every unrelated future use.
We will respect applicable legal rights concerning withdrawal, objections and removal requests.
22. Guest Footage Submitted to Us
Guests may voluntarily send photographs, recordings or alleged paranormal evidence to The Daily Detour Paranormal.
Submitting footage for private review does not automatically transfer copyright ownership or grant us unrestricted publication rights.
Before using submitted content publicly, we will obtain an appropriate licence or permission where required.
Guests should ensure they have the necessary rights to share submitted material and should inform us of any relevant privacy restrictions.
23. Copyright and Ownership
Unless otherwise agreed, guests generally retain copyright in original photographs, videos and recordings they create.
The Daily Detour Paranormal retains rights in its own original recordings, graphics, branding and other protected content.
Permission to film at the venue does not grant ownership of our logos, trademarks or original creative materials.
Neither party may use another person's copyrighted material beyond what is permitted by law or an applicable licence.
24. Use of Our Business Name and Branding
Guests may accurately identify their investigation as taking place at The Old Vicarage Wakefield and may refer to The Daily Detour Paranormal.
However, guests must not falsely imply that we sponsor, endorse or officially produce their content.
Our logos and branding must not be used in a misleading manner.
Requests for official collaboration or promotional partnerships should be discussed with us.
25. CCTV and Security Recordings
Security CCTV is separate from ordinary guest filming and paranormal investigation recording.
CCTV operated by us is intended primarily for legitimate safety, security and incident-management purposes.
Guests do not automatically receive access to CCTV footage because they attended an investigation.
Requests for footage will be handled in accordance with our CCTV & Surveillance Policy and applicable data protection law.
26. Requests for CCTV Evidence
Guests may contact us if they believe CCTV may have captured an event relevant to their investigation.
Where footage exists, we may consider whether an appropriate extract can lawfully be shared.
We may redact or withhold footage to protect the privacy of other individuals.
We cannot guarantee that footage will be available, particularly after the normal retention period.
Statutory data access requests will be handled separately from discretionary requests for paranormal evidence.
27. Filming the Host
The host may be present in the building while remaining separate from the investigating group.
Guests should seek permission before deliberately recording private conversations or conducting an interview with the host.
Incidental recording of the host will be considered in context, taking account of privacy, applicable law and the circumstances.
The host's presence does not create an unrestricted right to record or publish private interactions.
28. Filming Other Visitors
Where multiple groups, authorised visitors or other individuals are present, guests must respect their privacy and reasonable expectations.
Guests must not deliberately include unwilling individuals in close-up interviews, staged scenes or promotional content without an appropriate lawful basis.
The host may establish reasonable arrangements to minimise conflicts between filming activities.
29. Filming During Emergencies
In an emergency, safety takes priority over recording.
Guests must immediately follow the host's instructions and applicable emergency procedures.
Guests must not obstruct emergency services, delay evacuation or place themselves or others at risk to obtain footage.
The host may require filming to stop where necessary to manage an emergency.
30. Privacy and Data Protection
Photography, video and audio recordings may contain personal information.
Where The Daily Detour Paranormal determines the purposes and means of processing such information, our Privacy & Data Protection Policy applies.
Independent guest creators may have their own obligations under data protection and privacy law.
Guests should take particular care when publishing identifiable individuals, private conversations or sensitive personal information.
31. Defamation, Harassment and Unlawful Content
Guests must not use filming activities to harass, threaten, intimidate or unlawfully target other individuals.
The venue must not be used for unlawful recording activities.
Guests remain responsible for content they independently create and publish.
Nothing in this policy prevents lawful reporting, fair criticism or the exercise of legal rights.
32. Requests to Stop Filming
The host may require filming to stop or equipment to be moved where reasonably necessary because of:
An immediate safety concern.
Privacy or security risks.
Interference with other building occupants.
Damage or risk to the historic premises.
Obstruction of emergency routes.
Serious disruption to the booked activity.
A breach of venue rules.
Any restriction will be applied reasonably and proportionately.
33. Refusal or Withdrawal of Filming Permission
We may refuse or withdraw permission for a particular filming activity where there is a legitimate reason.
This may include unsafe equipment, unauthorised commercial production, serious privacy concerns or repeated breaches of venue rules.
Where a material restriction affects a service specifically agreed as part of a booking, applicable contractual and consumer rights will be respected.
34. Responsibility for Equipment
Guests remain responsible for their own cameras, recording devices, tripods, batteries and other belongings.
Equipment should not be left in unsafe locations or positioned where it may be damaged.
We are not responsible for every accidental loss or equipment malfunction.
Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
35. Filming Disputes and Complaints
Concerns about filming, privacy, copyright or the use of recordings should be raised with the host where appropriate.
Formal enquiries may be directed to:
thedailydetourenquiries@gmail.com
We will consider complaints fairly and take appropriate action where the matter falls within our responsibilities.
Where a complaint concerns personal information processed by us, it will also be considered under our Privacy & Data Protection Policy.
36. Changes to Filming Arrangements
Filming permissions and available areas may change due to building operations, safety considerations, changes in our operational spaces or other legitimate reasons.
We may update this policy when necessary.
Material changes affecting existing bookings will be handled in accordance with applicable contractual and consumer rights.
37. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy removes or restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
This includes applicable consumer rights, data protection rights, intellectual property rights and legal protections relating to negligence.

5. Historical Information and Paranormal Claims
We recognise the importance of distinguishing between documented historical information and unverified accounts.
Information accompanying an exhibit may include:
Documented history: Information supported by identifiable records, reliable sources or other verifiable evidence.
Reported experiences: Accounts provided by previous owners, donors, investigators or witnesses.
Folklore and tradition: Stories or beliefs associated with an object or location.
Paranormal interpretation: An explanation or belief that an event may involve supernatural activity.

Where appropriate, exhibit descriptions will identify whether information is documented, reported, traditionally believed or subject to interpretation.

Some objects may be associated with claims of unexplained movement, unusual sounds, apparitions, emotional experiences or other alleged phenomena.
Such accounts are presented as reports or beliefs rather than scientifically established facts.
We do not guarantee that visitors will witness paranormal activity.
The presence of an object within The Vault does not constitute proof that it is haunted, cursed, possessed or capable of causing supernatural effects.
Visitors are encouraged to form their own opinions.

We may temporarily restrict access for maintenance, collection care, private arrangements or safety reasons.
9. Age Restrictions
Standard paranormal investigations at The Old Vicarage are restricted to guests aged 18 and over.
Access to The Vault as part of those investigations is subject to the same restriction.
Any separate activities involving younger visitors would require specific arrangements, appropriate supervision and relevant safety considerations.
No separate admission entitlement for children is created by this policy.
10. Visitor Conduct
Visitors must behave responsibly and respectfully while inside The Vault.
Visitors must not:
Deliberately damage or interfere with exhibits.
Remove objects or display materials.
Open cabinets, boxes or protective enclosures without permission.
Interfere with security or safety equipment.
Enter restricted storage areas.
Behave in a threatening or disruptive manner.
Use museum objects in unauthorised experiments.
Place food, drinks or personal equipment on displays.
Obstruct entrances or emergency routes.
Reasonable instructions from the host must be followed.
11. Handling of Artefacts
Artefacts must not be touched, moved, opened or handled without express permission.
This applies whether an item is considered historic, allegedly haunted, fragile or otherwise significant.
Some objects may be delicate, unstable, valuable, irreplaceable or subject to special care requirements.
Permission to photograph an object does not grant permission to handle it.
Where handling is authorised, visitors must follow the instructions and safeguards provided.
12. Controlled Handling Sessions
We may occasionally arrange supervised handling or examination sessions involving suitable objects.
Such activities will be subject to the nature and condition of the item, ownership permissions and relevant safety considerations.
Some objects may never be made available for handling.
We reserve the right to end a handling session where there is a risk to people or the collection.
13. Paranormal Experiments
The Vault may form part of an authorised paranormal investigation.
However, museum objects must not be used in experiments without prior permission.
Guests must not independently:
Move allegedly haunted objects.
Open sealed or enclosed displays.
Remove items from protective cases.
Place objects in unsafe positions.
Apply heat, liquids or other substances.
Damage or alter objects.
Conduct experiments that create a foreseeable safety risk.
Permission for a particular experiment may be refused where it would compromise preservation, ownership obligations, safety or privacy.
14. Allegedly Haunted and Spiritually Significant Objects
Some items may have stories involving alleged hauntings, spiritual attachments, curses or other supernatural claims.
We recognise that these accounts may hold personal, cultural or emotional significance for donors and visitors.
Objects will be described respectfully, without presenting unverified claims as established facts.
We do not claim that objects can cause supernatural harm, nor do we guarantee that any reported effects will occur.
Visitors are free to interpret these accounts according to their own beliefs.
15. Personal Comfort and Wellbeing
Some exhibits may contain unsettling imagery, descriptions of death, spiritual beliefs or accounts of distressing experiences.
Visitors who feel uncomfortable may choose not to engage with a particular exhibit or may leave the museum area.
Guests should inform the host if they require assistance.
We will not deliberately pressure visitors to touch an object, participate in an experiment or engage with content that makes them uncomfortable.
16. Historic and Religious Artefacts
Historic, religious and culturally significant items will be treated with respect.
We will consider the cultural context, known history, provenance and any relevant restrictions when accepting, displaying or interpreting such objects.
We will not knowingly acquire or display unlawfully obtained items.
Particular care will be taken where an object may have significance to a living community or where display could raise ethical concerns.
17. Sensitive, Hazardous or Restricted Objects
We may refuse or restrict objects that present unacceptable risks.
Examples include items suspected of containing hazardous substances, unstable materials, dangerous mechanisms or other significant hazards.
Objects requiring specialist handling, storage, conservation or legal permissions will not be accepted for display unless appropriate arrangements can be made.
Human remains, potentially protected cultural property and other especially sensitive material require separate legal and ethical consideration and will not be treated as ordinary donations.
18. Donations to The Vault
We welcome enquiries from individuals interested in donating suitable objects.
Potential donations may include historic artefacts, paranormal memorabilia, books, photographs, documentation and other relevant materials.
Offering an item does not guarantee that it will be accepted.
We may request information about:
The object's history and provenance.
Its current legal owner.
Its condition.
Any known hazards.
Existing photographs or documentation.
Associated stories or experiences.
Restrictions the donor wishes to propose.
We may decline a donation where an item is unsuitable or where we cannot reasonably provide appropriate care.
19. Transfer of Ownership
An item does not automatically become the property of The Daily Detour Paranormal merely because it is delivered to The Vault.
Where an item is donated permanently, ownership arrangements should be confirmed in writing.
The written record should identify the item, the donor, the intended transfer and any agreed conditions.
Where ownership is unclear, the item may be declined or held only under a separately agreed arrangement.
We will not knowingly accept an item from someone who lacks authority to transfer it.
20. Loaned Objects
We may accept suitable objects on temporary loan.
Loaned items remain the property of their lawful owners unless a separate written transfer is agreed.
Loan arrangements should identify:
The owner and the object.
The agreed loan period.
Permitted display and handling.
Relevant care requirements.
Any insurance or responsibility arrangements.
Photography and publication permissions.
Procedures for return or early termination.
A loan does not become a permanent donation merely because the item remains on display for an extended period.
21. Donor and Lender Recognition
We value the individuals and organisations who support The Vault.
Where appropriate and agreed, donors or lenders may be acknowledged through exhibit labels, website content, social media or other museum materials.
Individuals may request that their names not be displayed publicly.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy & Data Protection Policy.
Donating an object does not automatically grant unrestricted permission to publish a donor's personal experiences, photographs or identifying details.
22. Object Histories and Supporting Evidence
We encourage donors and lenders to provide any relevant information supporting an object's history.
This may include receipts, letters, photographs, previous ownership records, witness accounts or other documentation.
Where an account cannot be independently verified, it may be described as a reported history or personal testimony.
We reserve the right to correct, qualify or remove inaccurate information from exhibit descriptions.
23. Collection Records
We aim to maintain appropriate internal records for objects accepted into the collection.
Records may include:
A unique identifying reference.
Object description and photographs.
Ownership or loan status.
Source and provenance information.
Date received.
Current location.
Condition notes.
Relevant display restrictions.
Supporting documents.
Agreed return or disposal arrangements.
Records will be maintained proportionately to the size and nature of the collection.
24. Conservation and Preservation
We aim to protect collection items from avoidable damage or deterioration.
Where appropriate, this may involve protective display arrangements, controlled handling, suitable storage, cleaning restrictions and monitoring of environmental conditions.
We recognise that The Old Vicarage is a historic building and that environmental conditions may require particular attention.
Items requiring specialist conservation may be referred for professional advice or removed from display until suitable arrangements are available.
25. Movement and Relocation of Objects
Objects may be moved within The Vault, placed into storage or relocated to another authorised space for preservation, operational or display purposes.
Where an item is on loan, any movement will remain subject to the relevant agreement.
Changes affecting an item's recorded location should be documented appropriately.
Guests must not move exhibits independently.
26. Removal, Return and Disposal
An object may be removed from display because of safety concerns, conservation needs, changes in the collection or other legitimate reasons.
Loaned items will be returned in accordance with the relevant loan agreement.
Permanent donations will be managed in accordance with the agreed ownership terms and applicable law.
Where disposal or transfer is considered, we will take account of provenance, donor conditions, legal restrictions and appropriate collection-management principles.
We will not knowingly dispose of an item in breach of another person's ownership rights.
27. Photography and Filming
Photography and filming within The Vault are generally welcome during authorised visits and investigations.
Guests must comply with our Photography, Filming & Recording Policy.
Additional restrictions may apply to particular objects where required for preservation, privacy, copyright or loan conditions.
Filming permission does not authorise handling or repositioning exhibits.
28. Use of Museum Images and Stories
Photographs of objects and accounts of their reported histories may be used for museum interpretation, educational material and appropriate promotional activities.
We will respect applicable copyright, privacy and contractual rights.
Ownership of a physical object does not necessarily include copyright in associated photographs, documents or other creative works.
Where necessary, separate permission will be obtained before using third-party material.
29. Research and Independent Investigation
We welcome responsible research into objects, their histories and associated claims.
Requests for detailed access, examination or research collaboration may be considered individually.
Research activities must respect the condition of the objects, privacy rights, ownership agreements and operational requirements.
We do not guarantee access to original documents, restricted records or privately loaned items.
30. Corrections and New Information
We recognise that information about historic objects may be incomplete or change as new evidence becomes available.
Anyone who believes an exhibit description contains an error is welcome to contact us.
We will consider relevant evidence and make appropriate corrections where justified.
Our commitment is to distinguish established information from reported experiences while preserving the stories that make the collection meaningful.
31. Authenticity and Representation
We will not knowingly describe a modern reproduction as an authenticated antique or present an invented provenance as established history.
Where an item is a replica, reproduction or interpretive display, this should be made clear when relevant.
The inclusion of an item in The Vault does not certify the authenticity of every story associated with it.
32. Theft, Damage and Interference
Suspected theft, deliberate damage or unauthorised interference may result in removal from the venue and appropriate further action.
Where an incident occurs, relevant information may be documented and disclosed to police, insurers or other appropriate parties where lawful.
Any claim for compensation will be considered according to the circumstances and applicable law.
33. CCTV and Collection Security
CCTV may be used within The Vault and other authorised spaces operated by The Daily Detour Paranormal.
Any such surveillance will be subject to our CCTV & Surveillance Policy.
CCTV may help protect displays and investigate incidents but does not replace appropriate supervision, physical security or collection-care arrangements.
34. Fire Safety and Emergency Procedures
Museum displays must not obstruct emergency exits, escape routes or safety equipment.
Guests must follow the host's instructions during an emergency.
Visitors must not delay evacuation to retrieve equipment, photograph exhibits or attempt to protect collection items.
Human safety takes priority over the preservation of objects.
35. Accessibility
The Vault is located within a historic building, which may present accessibility limitations.
Visitors are encouraged to contact us in advance if they require information about access or reasonable adjustments.
We will consider reasonable adjustments in accordance with applicable law and the practical constraints of the premises.
Further information is provided in our Health, Safety & Accessibility Policy.
36. Responsibility and Legal Rights
We take reasonable steps to manage the museum and its collections responsibly.
Visitors must follow relevant safety instructions and avoid interfering with displays.
Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Applicable consumer, property, intellectual property and data protection rights remain unaffected.
37. Complaints and Concerns
Concerns relating to exhibits, object histories, donations, loans, handling or visitor conduct may be raised with us.
We will consider complaints fairly and seek an appropriate resolution.
Where a concern relates to ownership, provenance or sensitive cultural material, we may request supporting information before making a decision.
38. Changes to the Collection
The Vault is an evolving collection.
Exhibits, layouts, object descriptions and available display spaces may change without advance notice.
We do not guarantee that a particular object will be on display during every visit unless this has been expressly agreed as a material part of a booking.
Where a material change affects an agreed service, applicable contractual and consumer rights will be respected.
39. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the collection, operational arrangements, legal requirements or recognised collection-management practices.
The latest version will be made available through our website.

1. Introduction
The Daily Detour Paranormal provides opportunities for individuals and groups to explore locations associated with historical accounts, folklore, reported paranormal activity and unexplained experiences.
Our investigations are intended to encourage curiosity, independent exploration, responsible experimentation and respectful discussion.
We recognise that beliefs concerning ghosts, spirits, hauntings and other paranormal phenomena vary considerably.
This disclaimer explains the nature of our activities, the limitations of paranormal claims, the interpretation of evidence and the responsibilities of individuals attending our investigations.
It should be read alongside our Booking Terms & Conditions, Guest Rules & Code of Conduct, Health, Safety & Accessibility Policy, Photography & Filming Policy and other applicable venue policies.
2. Business Information

3. Nature of Paranormal Investigation
Paranormal investigation involves exploring reports, beliefs and experiences that some individuals interpret as supernatural or unexplained.
Activities may include:
Independent exploration of authorised areas.
Photography, filming and audio recording.
Electronic voice phenomena (EVP) sessions.
Use of spirit boxes and other investigative equipment.
Observation of environmental conditions.
Research into historical accounts and local folklore.
Discussion of personal experiences.
Experiments intended to explore reported activity.
These activities are provided for investigative, educational, recreational and entertainment purposes.
They do not constitute a scientifically validated method of communicating with deceased individuals or proving supernatural activity.
4. No Guarantee of Paranormal Activity
Paranormal activity is not guaranteed during any investigation.
Guests may experience unusual events, ordinary environmental occurrences or no notable activity at all.
The absence of reported activity does not mean that an investigation has been unsuccessful or that the service has not been provided.
Bookings are for access to the agreed investigation experience, facilities and arrangements, rather than a guaranteed paranormal outcome.
Nothing in this provision removes any applicable statutory consumer rights.
5. Paranormal Claims Are Not Established Facts
Accounts of ghosts, spirits, apparitions, unexplained sounds, object movement and other phenomena may be shared during investigations or through our website and promotional material.
Unless clearly supported by reliable evidence, these accounts should be understood as reports, beliefs, interpretations or folklore rather than verified facts.
The Daily Detour Paranormal does not claim that every reported incident has a supernatural explanation.
Guests are encouraged to approach all claims with curiosity and critical consideration.
6. Historical Information and Folklore
The Old Vicarage has a history that contributes to its character and the experiences offered at the venue.
Information about the building may come from historical records, previous occupants, local accounts, research, oral histories or folklore.
We aim to distinguish documented historical information from stories and claims that have not been independently verified.
Historical interpretations may change as new information becomes available.
We reserve the right to correct or update historical material where appropriate.
7. Reported Activity at The Old Vicarage
Visitors may be informed about reports of:
Apparitions or shadow-like figures.
Footsteps and unexplained sounds.
Doors moving or closing.
Voices or apparent vocal responses.
Unusual sensations.
Reported interactions with equipment.
Experiences associated with particular rooms or objects.
These examples describe the types of experiences that have been reported or associated with the location.
They are not guarantees of what guests will encounter.
We do not assert that every report has been independently verified or that a supernatural cause has been established.
8. Independent Investigation
The Daily Detour Paranormal aims to provide guests with the opportunity to conduct their own investigations.
During booked investigations, a designated host remains physically present within The Old Vicarage but will generally remain separate from the investigating group.
This arrangement is intended to support independent exploration while maintaining an on-site point of contact.
Guests remain responsible for following venue rules, respecting restricted areas and seeking assistance when required.
Independent investigation does not mean unrestricted or unsupervised access to the entire building.
9. Investigation Equipment
Guests may use suitable paranormal investigation equipment in accordance with our venue rules.
Examples may include:
EMF meters.
Digital audio recorders.
Spirit boxes.
REM-pods.
Motion sensors.
Infrared and night-vision cameras.
Environmental monitoring devices.
Other approved equipment.
Such devices may respond to ordinary environmental, electrical, mechanical or technical factors.
An unusual reading, sound or activation does not, by itself, establish paranormal activity.
10. Equipment Accuracy and Interpretation
Equipment used in paranormal investigation may have limitations affecting reliability and interpretation.
Readings and recordings may be influenced by:
Electrical interference.
Radio signals.
Temperature changes.
Air movement.
Battery condition.
Equipment sensitivity.
Building materials.
Human movement.
Technical faults.
Background noise.
Guests are encouraged to consider possible ordinary explanations before drawing conclusions.
We do not certify paranormal equipment as scientifically capable of detecting spirits or supernatural entities.
11. Spirit Boxes and Communication Devices
Spirit boxes and similar devices may generate or receive sounds, radio fragments, interference or other audio output.
Some investigators interpret particular responses as possible communication.
However, the presence of an apparently relevant word or phrase does not establish that communication with a spirit has occurred.
Guests are responsible for interpreting their own experiences.
We do not guarantee that these devices will produce meaningful or paranormal responses.
12. Electronic Voice Phenomena
EVP sessions may involve recording audio and reviewing it for sounds or voices that were not noticed at the time.
Recordings can contain background noise, environmental sounds, electronic interference and speech from ordinary sources.
Different listeners may interpret ambiguous recordings differently.
An apparent voice or message should not automatically be treated as evidence of a supernatural presence.
13. Photographic and Video Evidence
Photographs and recordings may contain unusual shapes, reflections, shadows, lighting effects or apparent movement.
Such images may result from ordinary photographic or environmental conditions.
Examples include dust, insects, lens reflections, compression artefacts, motion blur and infrared illumination.
Guests are encouraged to consider these possibilities when reviewing footage.
The Daily Detour Paranormal does not guarantee that photographs or videos will capture paranormal evidence.
14. Personal Experiences
Individuals may report sensations such as:
Feeling watched.
Sudden emotional changes.
Unusual temperature sensations.
Hearing unexplained sounds.
Seeing shadows or movement.
Feeling uncomfortable in particular areas.
These experiences may be meaningful to the individuals concerned.
However, a personal experience does not necessarily establish an external or supernatural cause.
We respect guests' experiences without requiring others to accept a particular interpretation.
15. Emotional Responses
Paranormal investigations may take place in unfamiliar historic surroundings, often during evening or nighttime hours.
Darkness, anticipation, unusual sounds and discussion of unsettling subjects may contribute to strong emotional reactions.
Guests should participate at a level they find comfortable.
No guest will be required to continue an optional experiment or activity that makes them uncomfortable.
Anyone requiring assistance should contact the host.
16. Health and Wellbeing
Paranormal investigations are not medical, psychological or therapeutic services.
We do not diagnose conditions, provide treatment or claim that paranormal activities can cure or cause medical conditions.
Guests should not disregard professional medical advice because of an experience or interpretation arising during an investigation.
Where a guest feels unwell or unsafe, they should stop the relevant activity and seek appropriate assistance.
17. Spiritual and Religious Beliefs
We respect the right of individuals to hold religious, spiritual, sceptical or other beliefs.
Our activities are not intended to promote a compulsory religious or spiritual viewpoint.
Guests may interpret experiences according to their own beliefs.
No guest should be pressured to participate in spiritual practices, rituals or experiments against their wishes.
Activities must remain consistent with venue rules and applicable safety requirements.
18. Ouija Boards and Spiritual Experiments
Ouija boards are not permitted without prior agreement from The Daily Detour Paranormal.
Other experiments or practices may also require approval where they raise safety, preservation or operational concerns.
Permission may be refused where an activity presents an unacceptable risk or conflicts with the venue's rules.
We do not guarantee that any approved spiritual experiment will produce a particular result.
19. Allegedly Haunted Objects
The Vault — Haunted & Historic Museum may display objects associated with reported paranormal experiences, unusual histories or spiritual beliefs.
Accounts accompanying these objects may come from donors, previous owners, investigators or other sources.
Such accounts are presented as reports or interpretations unless otherwise supported by reliable evidence.
The inclusion of an object in the museum does not establish that it is haunted, cursed, possessed or capable of supernatural effects.
20. Object Handling and Interaction
Guests must not touch, move, open or interfere with museum objects without express permission.
Some objects may be fragile, historically significant, loaned or subject to special care requirements.
Restrictions are intended to protect visitors, preserve objects and respect ownership arrangements.
Guests must follow the relevant museum and venue rules.
21. No Claims of Supernatural Harm
The Daily Detour Paranormal does not claim that visiting The Old Vicarage or encountering an allegedly haunted object will cause a person to become possessed, cursed, spiritually attached or otherwise affected by supernatural forces.
Stories involving such claims may form part of folklore or personal testimony.
They should not be understood as verified predictions of harm.
Ordinary physical safety risks associated with a historic building are addressed separately in our Health, Safety & Accessibility Policy.
22. Safety and the Historic Building
The Old Vicarage is a historic property and may contain uneven surfaces, stairs, low lighting, restricted spaces and other physical hazards.
Guests must follow safety instructions and remain within authorised areas.
The possibility of paranormal activity does not justify unsafe behaviour.
Guests must not run, force doors, climb unsafe structures or enter restricted areas to investigate an alleged event.
Safety takes priority over obtaining evidence.
23. Shared Building and Other Occupants
The Old Vicarage is a shared building containing independently occupied business spaces.
Other authorised individuals may occasionally enter or move through communal areas.
Sounds, movement or other occurrences may have ordinary explanations connected with building use.
Guests must respect other occupants and must not enter private business areas.
The Daily Detour Paranormal does not guarantee that the building will be completely free from all other authorised activity.
24. No Staged Paranormal Activity
We aim to provide an authentic opportunity for independent investigation.
We do not present deliberately manufactured paranormal events as genuine supernatural occurrences.
Where content is staged, reconstructed, fictionalised or created for entertainment, it should be identified appropriately.
This does not mean that every unexplained event can be verified or that every recording has a known explanation.
25. Guest Conduct and Evidence Integrity
Guests must not deliberately create misleading evidence through unsafe, destructive or deceptive behaviour.
Guests must not:
Damage property to produce sounds or movement.
Interfere with another person's equipment.
Frighten or harass other participants.
Move museum artefacts without permission.
Manipulate safety equipment.
Create dangerous situations for filming.
Falsely accuse identifiable individuals of misconduct without a reasonable basis.
Reasonable experiments and creative activities remain welcome within the venue rules.
26. Filming and Sharing Experiences
Guests may generally photograph, film and record their investigations within authorised areas.
Guests remain responsible for their own content and interpretations.
Publicly shared material must respect privacy, copyright and other applicable legal rights.
Our Photography, Filming & Recording Policy provides further details.
27. CCTV and Paranormal Evidence
Security CCTV may operate in hallways and spaces managed by The Daily Detour Paranormal, subject to appropriate privacy and operational arrangements.
CCTV is intended primarily for legitimate security and incident-management purposes.
It does not guarantee the recording of paranormal activity.
Access to recordings is subject to our CCTV & Surveillance Policy and applicable data protection law.
28. Guest Expectations
Before booking, guests should understand that paranormal investigations are inherently unpredictable.
The experience may involve periods of quiet observation, equipment use, discussion, exploration and review of possible evidence.
We do not guarantee:
Apparitions or visible figures.
Audible voices or responses.
Physical contact.
Movement of objects.
Spirit-box communication.
Electronic equipment activation.
Photographic or video evidence.
Any particular emotional or personal experience.
A booking provides the agreed investigation service, not a guaranteed supernatural outcome.
29. Refunds and Paranormal Activity
The absence of paranormal activity, on its own, does not entitle a guest to a refund where the agreed investigation service has been properly provided.
Cancellation, refunds and booking changes are governed by our Booking Terms & Conditions and Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights where a service is not provided as agreed or is not performed with reasonable care and skill.
30. Guest Responsibility
Guests are responsible for:
Following venue rules.
Using equipment safely.
Respecting other individuals.
Remaining within authorised areas.
Reporting safety concerns.
Making their own interpretations of alleged paranormal evidence.
Seeking assistance when necessary.
Guests must not knowingly create risks to themselves or others in pursuit of an investigation.
31. No Requirement to Believe
Guests are not required to believe in ghosts, spirits or supernatural phenomena to attend an investigation.
Scepticism, scientific curiosity and respectful critical discussion are welcome.
No guest should be pressured to accept a particular explanation for an event.
We encourage open-minded but responsible investigation.
32. Information from Third Parties
Some accounts, photographs, recordings and historical information may be supplied by previous owners, visitors, donors or other third parties.
We may share these materials where appropriate, but their inclusion does not necessarily mean that we have independently verified every claim.
Where inaccuracies are identified, we will consider appropriate corrections.
33. Research and New Evidence
Our understanding of particular objects, locations and reported experiences may develop over time.
We may update exhibit descriptions, historical accounts and investigation information where new evidence becomes available.
We aim to distinguish factual corrections from changes in personal interpretation.
34. Media and Promotional Material
Our website, social media and video productions may discuss reported hauntings, unexplained experiences and paranormal theories.
Such content is intended to inform, entertain or document investigations.
Dramatic titles, creative presentation and atmospheric imagery do not constitute guarantees of supernatural activity.
Where factual claims are made, we aim to present them responsibly.
35. Complaints and Concerns
Guests who believe that information has been materially misrepresented or that an investigation service was not provided as agreed may contact us.
We will consider complaints fairly and in accordance with our applicable policies and legal obligations.
Concerns about safety should be raised with the host as soon as practicable.
36. Legal Rights and Liability
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or restricts liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and applicable statutory consumer rights.
This disclaimer does not replace our responsibility to provide services with reasonable care and skill.
It is intended to clarify the nature and limitations of paranormal investigation, not to remove lawful protections.
37. Changes to This Disclaimer
We may update this disclaimer to reflect changes in investigation methods, venue operations, information, legal requirements or other relevant circumstances.
The latest version will be available through our website.

However, this does not remove statutory rights or automatically make every cancellation charge or retained payment lawful in every circumstance.
We will consider any applicable legal entitlement, contractual obligations and the circumstances of the case.
Where we cancel an event or cannot provide the agreed service, we will apply the remedies required by law and our applicable terms.
14. Changes to Bookings
Customers seeking to change an investigation date should contact us as early as possible.
Any requested change will be considered according to availability, the relevant booking terms and the circumstances.
We cannot guarantee that alternative dates will be available.
Where a change is agreed, we will confirm the revised arrangements.
15. Complaints About Health and Safety
Health and safety concerns will be treated seriously.
Examples may include:
Unsafe equipment.
Trip hazards.
Obstructed exits.
Unsafe behaviour.
Building defects.
Inadequate safety information.

Immediate concerns should be reported to the host.
We will assess reported issues and take appropriate action where necessary.
Relevant incidents may be documented for safety, insurance or legal purposes.
16. Accessibility Concerns
We recognise that The Old Vicarage is a historic building and that some areas may present accessibility challenges.
Visitors may contact us to discuss accessibility information or reasonable adjustments.
Complaints concerning accessibility or disability-related treatment will be considered respectfully and in accordance with applicable equality legislation.
We will not dismiss an accessibility concern solely because the premises are historic.
Where an adjustment cannot reasonably be provided, we will explain the relevant limitations and consider appropriate alternatives where possible.
17. Complaints About Guest Conduct
Concerns involving another guest's conduct should be reported to the host where possible.
This may include:
Harassment.
Threatening behaviour.
Damage to property.
Interference with equipment.
Breaches of privacy.
Unsafe activities.
Serious disruption.
We may investigate and take proportionate action under our Guest Rules & Code of Conduct.
The safety and rights of those involved will be considered.

Object handling.
Donations or loans.
Allegedly haunted artefacts.
Visitor conduct.
We will consider relevant evidence and the circumstances of the concern.
Where a factual error is identified, we may correct the relevant description or information.
Reported paranormal experiences will be distinguished from independently verified historical facts.
19. Complaints About Photography and Filming
Guests may raise concerns regarding photography, filming, audio recording or publication of identifiable individuals.
We will consider the circumstances, relevant permissions, privacy rights and applicable law.
Where material is controlled by The Daily Detour Paranormal, we will assess appropriate action.
Where content is independently created or published by another guest or third party, our ability to remove or control it may be limited.
We may provide relevant guidance or take proportionate action where the matter falls within our responsibilities.
20. CCTV Complaints and Footage Requests
Concerns regarding CCTV operated by The Daily Detour Paranormal may be raised through our contact email.
These may include camera coverage, privacy, recording practices, security or access to footage.
CCTV requests will be assessed in accordance with our CCTV & Surveillance Policy and applicable data protection law.
Requests for personal information will be treated as statutory rights requests where appropriate, even if they are described informally.
21. Data Protection Complaints
Individuals may complain about how we collect, use, retain, share or protect their personal information.
Such complaints will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection law.
We will acknowledge a data protection complaint within the applicable statutory period, normally no later than 30 days, investigate it appropriately, provide relevant progress information and communicate an outcome without undue or unjustifiable delay.
Individuals may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
22. Personal Information Requests
Individuals may request access to their personal information or exercise other applicable data protection rights.
Requests can be made verbally or in writing.
Subject access requests will normally be answered without undue delay and within one month, subject to applicable rules concerning identity verification, clarification and extensions.
These statutory requests are handled separately from ordinary customer service complaints.
Further details are provided in our Privacy & Data Protection Policy.
23. How We Investigate Complaints
Depending on the nature of the complaint, we may:
Review the original booking details.
Examine relevant correspondence.
Review payment records.
Consider applicable policies.
Speak with individuals involved.
Examine incident reports.
Review relevant footage where lawful and available.
Consider photographs or other supporting material.
Assess whether a service was provided as agreed.
We will seek to investigate proportionately and avoid unnecessary collection or disclosure of personal information.
24. Fairness and Impartiality
Complaints will be considered on their individual circumstances.
We will not automatically reject a concern because a guest disagrees with our interpretation of an event.
Equally, we may decline a requested remedy where the available evidence and applicable legal obligations do not support it.
We aim to explain our decisions clearly.
25. Possible Complaint Outcomes
Depending on the circumstances, an appropriate outcome may include:
An explanation or clarification.
Correction of inaccurate information.
An apology.
A change to operational arrangements.
A review of relevant procedures.
A reasonable alternative arrangement.
A refund or other financial remedy where required or appropriate.
No further action where the complaint is not substantiated.
The outcome will depend on the nature of the concern and applicable rights.
26. Refunds and Financial Remedies
Where a financial remedy is legally required, we will provide it in accordance with applicable law.
Where a discretionary refund or goodwill gesture is offered, it will be explained clearly.
A goodwill gesture does not necessarily establish that legal liability has been accepted.
We will not require customers to surrender statutory rights as a condition of receiving a remedy to which they are legally entitled.
27. Review of a Complaint Decision
If a customer is dissatisfied with our response, they may ask us to reconsider the matter.
They should explain which aspect of the decision they dispute and provide any additional relevant information.
As The Daily Detour Paranormal is operated by a sole trader, there may not be a separate internal management level available to conduct an independent appeal.
We will nevertheless consider new evidence and review whether our original decision was reasonable.
28. Respectful Communication
We ask customers and visitors to communicate respectfully.
We will not tolerate threats, harassment, discriminatory abuse or intimidation.
We recognise that customers may be upset or frustrated when making a complaint.
Expressing dissatisfaction, challenging a decision or asserting legal rights will not, by itself, be treated as unacceptable conduct.
Where communications become abusive or threatening, we may take proportionate steps to protect those involved.
29. Repeated or Unreasonable Contact
Where a complaint has been fully considered, we may explain that no further substantive response will be provided unless relevant new information becomes available.
Any restriction on communication will be reasonable, proportionate and consistent with applicable legal obligations.
We will not use this provision to avoid legitimate complaints, statutory information requests or legal responsibilities.
30. Confidentiality and Privacy
Complaints may contain personal or sensitive information.
We will handle such information in accordance with our Privacy & Data Protection Policy.
Information will be shared only where there is an appropriate reason and lawful basis.
We may need to disclose relevant details to insurers, professional advisers, authorities or other parties where lawful and necessary.
31. Complaint Record Retention
We will maintain appropriate records of formal complaints and their outcomes.
Routine complaint records will normally be retained for three years after resolution.
Records may be retained longer where required by law or reasonably necessary in connection with an ongoing dispute, legal claim, insurance matter or other legitimate purpose.
Information will be securely deleted or anonymised when no longer required.
32. External Advice and Legal Rights
Customers remain free to seek independent advice or exercise applicable legal rights.
This may include contacting Citizens Advice, Trading Standards, an appropriate regulator, a payment provider or the courts, depending on the issue.
Customers are not required to complete every stage of our internal complaints process before exercising rights that the law permits them to pursue directly.
Nothing in this policy restricts lawful access to external advice or remedies.
33. Alternative Dispute Resolution
Where a dispute cannot be resolved directly, the parties may consider an appropriate alternative dispute resolution service.
We will provide information about any applicable mandatory dispute resolution scheme where legally required.
This policy does not represent that The Daily Detour Paranormal is a member of a particular voluntary alternative dispute resolution scheme.
Any agreement to use a voluntary scheme will be considered in the circumstances.
34. Feedback and Suggestions
We welcome constructive feedback about The Old Vicarage, our investigation experiences, museum displays and wider activities.
Suggestions may help us improve:
Guest information.
Investigation arrangements.
Safety procedures.
Accessibility.
Museum interpretation.
Booking communications.
Equipment and facilities.
The overall guest experience.
We cannot guarantee that every suggestion will be implemented.
35. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our operations, customer service arrangements or applicable law.
The latest version will be available through our website.
Changes will not retrospectively remove rights that have already arisen under applicable law.
36. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
This includes rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, applicable data protection legislation and other relevant laws.
We remain responsible for providing our services with reasonable care and skill.
